is a Geological Consultant Prior to joining Black Fox, Schwalbach was Senior Staff Geologist with Aera Energy LLC, Bakersfield, California. Schwalbach was a senior member of the exploration team creating a portfolio of drillable prospects. Previously he led the geological modeling effort for the Ventura Field tertiary recovery team. Before joining Aera, Schwalbach was a Geologist with Oxy California developing Monterey Formation reservoirs at Elk Hills Oil Field. Schwalbach was previously at ExxonMobil responsible for development geology of the Santa Ynez Unit, offshore California. Schwalbach is a globally recognized expert in the Monterey Formation, having published numerous papers and field guides examining rock properties and reservoir parameters. He obtained a PhD from the University of Southern California and a bachelors degree from Duke University.
is a Geological Consultant with over 33 years of experience in the oil industry, entirely in California. Prior to joining Black Fox, Jeff was the Manager-Development for Plains Exploration & Production / Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas. There he was part of the leadership team which proposed and implemented $200 MM to $400 MM drilling, development and field improvement budgets for 40,000 bopd gross assets. Jeff's geology team was responsible for "discovering" nearly 5000 bopd in new reservoirs, offsetting declining production from mature projects. Jeff began his career with Shell California where he gained extensive experience in steam flood and diatomite development projects, including drilling some of the first successful thermal horizontal wells in California. Jeff has proposed and drilled over a thousand wells as a geologist and supervised others in thousands more. He has a BS in Geological Engineering from the University of North Dakota and is a California Registered Geologist.
is a Petrophysical Consultant. He is an accomplished petrophysicist with more than thirty years of exploration and development experience. As a Technical Consultant and lead petrophysicist for Aera Energy LLC from 1997 to 2017 his focus was on the evaluation of oil-in-place and optimization of recovery for existing and undeveloped oil fields in the San Joaquin and Santa Maria Basins. New technologies, for in situ evaluation of heavy oil viscosity by NMR, and for observation of the heavy oil recovery process, resulted in SPWLA publications and several patents. He was Technical Chair for the 2015 SPWLA annual meeting in Long Beach. Prior to Aera, O'Sullivan gained worldwide exploration and development experience at Ampolex (Australia), Maxus (Indonesia) and Unocal (Indonesia and Brea, CA). Rick has been responsible for surveillance, development, and optimization of reservoirs and wells in primary recovery, waterflood and steam injection projects located in West Texas and California. He has fifteen years of this experience applying reservoir simulation methods to steam injection, waterflood and primary recovery projects, primarily in California. Prather optimized and designed lift equipment, workovers and stimulation treatments. In reservoir engineering, he assessed aquifer water influx and predicted the impact of depressurization on steam injection projects.
